Abstract
PROGRAMS ON APPELLATE LITIGATION ARE FIRST DESCRIBED. AMONG THESE ARE A STUDY GROUP ON THE WORKLOAD OF THE SUPREME COURT, AND STUDIES ON APPELLATE COURT OPERATING PROCEDURES, COMPUTER ASSISTED LEGAL RESEARCH, CITATION VERIFICATION SERVICE, COURTS OF APPEALS LIBRARIES, AND INTERNAL OPERATING PROCEDURES OF COURTS OF APPEALS. PROGRAMS ON TRIAL COURT LITIGATION SUCH AS JUROR UTILIZATION, PROCEDURES FOR ADMINISTRATION OF DISTRICT COURTS, VIDEO TECHNOLOGY, BAIL STUDIES, COURT REPORTING, AND INTERPRETING SERVICES ARE ALSO OUTLINED. OTHER GENERAL PROGRAM AREAS DISCUSSED INCLUDE SENTENCING AND PROBATION PROJECTS, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT OF THE JUDICIAL SYSTEM, ACTIVITIES CONCERNING INTER-JUDICIAL AFFAIRS AND INFORMATION SERVICE, AND PROGRAMS ON CONTINUING EDUCATION AND TRAINING.
