Abstract
THIS GUIDE TO FEDERAL FACILITIES IS USED BY U.S. DISTRICT COURTS, PROBATION OFFICERS, MARSHALS, ATTORNEYS, PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATIONS, OTHER GOVERNMENT AGENCIES, MEMBERS OF THE NEWS MEDIA, AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC. THE INSTITUTIONS ARE ARRANGED BY REGIONS, INCLUDING THE NORTH CENTRAL, NORTHEAST, SOUTH CENTRAL, SOUTHEAST, AND WESTERN REGIONS. EACH FACILITY DESCRIPTION INCLUDES THE ADDRESS, TELEPHONE NUMBER, HISTORY, GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION, INMATE CAPACITY, INMATE SERVICES (MEDICAL AND EDUCATIONAL), OCCUPATIONAL ACTIVITIES, SPECIAL PRISON INDUSTRIES, AND AVAILABLE RECREATIONAL AND RELIGIOUS ACTIVITIES AND RESOURCES. STAFF TRAINING CENTERS, INSTITUTIONS UNDER CONSTRUCTION, AND COMMUNITY TREATMENT CENTERS ALSO ARE DESCRIBED. A MAP OF THE FEDERAL CORRECTIONAL SYSTEM, LOCATIONS OF BUREAU OF PRISONS INSTITUTIONS AND COMMUNITY TREATMENT CENTERS, AND AN ORGANIZATION CHART OF THE FEDERAL PRISON SYSTEM ARE INCLUDED.
