Abstract
TOPICS INCLUDE THE ROLES OF THE PROBATION DIVISION AND THE PROBATION OFFICER, AND THE OPERATIONS OF THE DIVISION WHICH INCLUDE STATISTICS RELATING TO INVESTIGATIVE REPORTS, PERSONS RECEIVED FOR SUPERVISION, MOVEMENT OF PERSONS UNDER SUPERVISION, PROBATION OFFICER CASELOADS, AND PERSONS REMOVED FROM SUPERVISION. THE FEDERAL CORRECTIONAL PROCESS, THE PRESENTENCE INVESTIGATION PROCESS AND SENTENCING ALTERNATIVES OF THE U.S. COURT ARE DESCRIBED IN APPENDED FLOW CHARTS.
