ONE OF A SERIES OF STUDIES DEVOTED TO LONG-RANGE INVESTIGATIONS OF CRIME AND DELINQUENCY OUTSIDE METROPOLITAN AREAS, THIS ONE FOCUSES ON FEMALE DELINQUENTS IN A BORDERLINE RURAL-URBAN (RURBAN) SETTING.
Abstract
THE STUDY SAMPLE INCLUDED 407 WORKING CLASS, SIXTH-GRADE GIRLS. THE HYPOTHESIS THAT THERE WILL BE A SIGNIFICANT RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN NEUTRALIZATION SCORES AND SELF-REPORTED DELINQUENCY SCORES FOR RURBAN SIXTH-GRADE FEMALES ON SELF-REPORTED DELINQUENCY AND NEUTRALIZATION SCALES, WAS NOT SUPPORTED BY THE DATA, DESPITE A PREVIOUS POSITIVE RESULT FOR MALE CLASSMATES.
