The Indiana Legislative Council directed the Interim Study Committee on Corrections Issues to examine the efficacy of the State's correctional programs.
Abstract
The Committee met five times during the course of the interim. This report summarizes testimony and recommendations made by the Committee in response to the issues raised by witnesses. These issues pertained to problems with the computation of earned credit time and good behavior time, a petition for modification of sentences, transfer of offenders to sheriff's department prior to release, drug trafficking by employees in Department of Corrections facilities, and probation workload measures.
