This is the second annual report of firearm registration activity in the State of Hawaii as compiled by the State Attorney General's Office.
Abstract
This document is a review of statistical data reported in compliance with Hawaii Revised Statute 134-14 which requires county police departments to report firearm registrations to the Attorney General's office on a monthly basis. The report of the Attorney General's office analyzing this information is produced annually. The report presents the number of firearm registration applications received in calendar year 2001, the number of those applications that were approved, the number denied, and a discussion of the permitting and registration types available under the statute. The application information is further grouped and analyzed to show application rates by county, monthly variations in application rates, specific reasons for application denials, incidence of firearm confiscation by firearm registration personnel, and a brief discussion of State concealed carry registrations.
