Abstract
A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE EDUCATION DEPARTMENT, WHICH PROVIDES VOCATIONAL TRAINING AND ELEMENTARY, SECONDARY AND COLLEGE-LEVEL EDUCATION TO THE STATE'S OFFENDERS, IS INCLUDED. PROGRAMS AT THE ADULT AND YOUTH CORRECTIONAL CENTERS ARE EXPLAINED, AS WELL AS THOSE IN WHICH THE DEPARTMENT PARTICIPATES JOINTLY WITH OTHER AGENCIES. APPENDICES CONTAIN THE DEPARTMENTAL ORGANIZATION CHART, SEVEN VOCATIONAL COURSE DESCRIPTIONS, AND INFORMATION ON EXTRA-INSTITUTIONAL TRAINING, PRIMARILY FOR FEMALES, OFFERED ON A LESS-THAN-CLASS-GROUP BASIS.
