AN EQUIPMENT STANDARD DEVELOPED BY THE LAW ENFORCEMENT STANDARDS LABORATORY OF THE NATIONAL BUREAU OF STANDARDS, THIS REPORT ESTABLISHES MINIMUM PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS AND TEST METHODS FOR FIXED AND BASE STATION ANTENNAS.
Abstract
THE PRINCIPAL TERMS AND DEFINITIONS USED IN THE STANDARD ARE DEFINED, AS ARE THE MOST CRITICAL ITEMS OF TEST EQUIPMENT NEEDED TO PERFORM THE NECESSARY MEASUREMENTS. CHARACTERISTICS MEASURED INCLUDE RELATIVE ANTENNA GAIN, RADIATION PATTERN, STANDING WAVE RATIO, AND ANTENNA POWER RATING. WIND VELOCITY RATING IS ALSO DISCUSSED. THIS STANDARD IS INTENDED FOR USE IN THE SELECTION AND PROCUREMENT OF ANTENNAS USED AT FIXED SITES.
