DESCRIBES A SPECIAL TYPE OF SYSTEM ANALYSIS, GAMING-SIMULATION, THAT WAS CONSTRUCTED IN THE SPRING OF 1974 FOR A STUDY OF THE CRIMINAL CASE PROCESSING SYSTEM IN FLORIDA.
Abstract
IN ORDER TO COMPLETE THE SIMULATION EXERCISE, IT WAS NECESSARY TO DESCRIBE THE ESSENTIAL SEQUENCE OF EVENTS THAT OCCUR DURING THE PROCESSING OF A FELONY CASE AND TO REPRESENT THESE EVENTS AND THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THEM ON A SERIES OF BOARDS. THE FIRST PART OF THIS REPORT DEALS WITH THE PROCESS OF BUILDING THE EXERCISE, AND IT IS SUGGESTED THAT THIS WOULD BE USEFUL TO THOSE CONSIDERING SIMILAR TASKS ELSEWHERE. THE SECOND SECTION CONTAINS A COPY OF THE GAME MANUAL. A SHORT DOCUMENT INTRODUCING THE FIELD OF GAMING-SIMULATION ALSO IS INCLUDED. THE FINAL SECTION DEALS WITH AN ASSESSMENT OF THE EXERCISE AND RECOMMENDATIONS FOR FUTURE USE. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT)...KAP
