THE UNIT HAS BEEN ATTACKING LAND SECURITIES FRAUD FIVE WAYS: THROUGH CIVIL, CRIMINAL, AND ADMINISTRATIVE PROCEEDINGS, A STATE WIDE PUBLIC AWARENESS PROGRAM, AND PROPOSALS FOR REMEDIAL LEGISLATION.
Abstract
FOUR ADDITIONAL CASES HAVE BEEN PREPARED AND ARE READY FOR DELIVERY TO THE ATTORNEY GENERAL OF FLORIDA (AT THE TIME OF THIS REPORT - FEBRUARY 23, 1976). IN EACH CASE THE STATE WILL BE SEEKING PERMANENT INJUNCTIONS AGAINST THE SALE OF PROMISSORY NOTES AND THE DISGORGEMENT OF THE ILL-GOTTEN GAINS OF THE TRANSACTIONS FROM CORPORATE DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, BROKERS, AND SALESMEN. A SUCCESSFUL PROSECUTION IS REPORTED. THE REPORT DETAILING A METHOD UTILIZED TO PERPETRATE A SECURITIES FRAUD IS INCLUDED IN THIS REPORT.
