AN AUTOBIOGRAPHY BY AN EX-CONVICT IN WHICH HE DISCUSSES THE CRIMES HE COMMITTED AND THE PRISON EXPERIENCES RESULTING FROM THEM.
Abstract
THE 'RULES' THE AUTHOR WRITES ABOUT ARE THOSE LAWS, STATE AND FEDERAL, THE BREAKING OF WHICH ARE PUNISHABLE BY IMPRISONMENT, AND, IN SOME CASES, BY CAPITAL PUNISHMENT, AND THEY ARE THE REGULATIONS THAT GOVERN THOSE PLACES OF CONFINEMENT TO WHICH THE PEOPLE WHO BREAK THE LAWS ARE SENT. THE 'FOOLS' OF THE TITLE ARE THOSE WHO THINK THEY CAN GET AWAY WITH BREAKING THE RULES AND THE REGULATIONS. THE AUTHOR WRITES FROM EXPERIENCE. HE WAS A FOOL IN EIGHTEEN ASSORTED HOUSES OF DETENTION - AND HE TRIED TO ESCAPE FROM ALMOST ALL OF THEM. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT MODIFIED)
