Abstract
FOLLOWING AN INTRODUCTION WHICH ATTEMPTS TO PLACE THE VOLUME INTO A FRAMEWORK THAT DRAWS A PARALLEL TO DEVELOPMENTS IN THE FEMINIST MOVEMENT, THE BEHAVIORAL SCIENCES, AND LEGAL REFORM CONCERNING FORCIBLE RAPE, THE BOOK IS DIVIDED INTO CONTEMPORARY ISSUES AND BEHAVIORAL SCIENCE STUDIES. INCLUDED IN THE FORMER CATEGORY ARE ARTICLES CONCERNING RAPE FROM THE FEMINIST PERSPECTIVE, STATISTICAL VICTIMIZATION SURVEYS, THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN RACE AND DEATH SENTENCES FOR RAPE, INTERRACIAL RAPE, THE RIGHTS OF THE ACCUSED IN RAPE CASES, JUDICIAL ATTITUDES TOWARD RAPE VICTIMS, AND THE MICHIGAN SEXUAL ASSAULT LAW.
