THE FOREST HILL POLICE DEPARTMENT CONSISTS OF 16 MEMBERS: 10 SWORN OFFICERS, 1 WARRANT OFFICER, 4 DISPATCHERS, AND 1 SECRETARY/RECORDS CLERK. IN ADDITION TO REVIEWING THE POLICE MANPOWER NEEDS OF FOREST HILLS, THIS STUDY REVIEWED PROBLEMS IN THE AREAS OF PERSONNEL SELECTION PERSONNEL TRAINING, POLICE-COMMUNITY RELATIONS, CRIMINAL INVESTIGATIONS, ORGANIZED CRIME OPERATIONS, RECORDS, COMMUNICATIONS, DETENTION FACILITIES, INTERLOCAL COOPERATION, AND EQUIPMENT AND FACILITIES. IT WAS RECOMMENDED, AMONG OTHER THINGS, THAT PERSONNEL ADMINISTRATION AND TRAINING PROCEDURES BE IMPROVED, THAT SUPERVISORY PERSONNEL AND A POLICE DETECTIVE BE ADDED TO THE DEPARTMENT, THAT A POLICE-COMMUNITY RELATIONS PROGRAM BE ESTABLISHED, THAT THE SECRETARY/RECORDS CLERK AND DISPATCHERS BE GIVEN ADDITIONAL TRAINING, AND THAT FACILITIES AND EQUIPMENT BE UPDATED.
