COMPREHENSIVE STUDY OF JUVENILES AND DELINQUENCY, THE RESULT OF SIX YEARS OF OBSERVATIONS, INTERVIEWS, TESTS, AND QUESTIONNAIRES.
Abstract
BY STUDYING TWO GROUPS OF SEVENTH GRADE BOYS IN KANSAS CITY, AN EXPERIMENTAL GROUP AND A CONTROL, THE AUTHORS WERE NOT ONLY ABLE TO TEST THE ADVANTAGES OF A WORK-STUDY PROGRAM (THE ENTIRE EXPERIMENTAL GROUP WAS WORK-STUDY ENROLLED), BUT ALSO TO EVALUATE FACTORS CONTRIBUTING TO SOCIAL AND EDUCATIONAL MALADJUSTMENT IN ADOLESCENTS. THE STUDY EXAMINES THE COMMUNITY, THE FAMILY, SCHOOLS, WORK EXPERIENCE, DELINQUENCY, SEXUAL EXPERIENCE, ATTITUDES AND VALUES, AND SOCIAL ELEMENTS. APPENDED ARE QUESTIONNAIRES, INTERVIEW CHECKLISTS, AND EVALUATIVE CRITERIA USED IN THE STUDY.
