Abstract
THE OMNIBUS CRIME CONTROL ACT IS SEEN AS RECOGNITION BY CONGRESS THAT FINANCIAL AID IS WHAT IS NEEDED MOST BY LAW ENFORCEMENT PERSONNEL. TITLE I OF THE ACT OFFERS FEDERAL FUNDS FOR A VARIETY OF FEDERAL GRANT PROGRAMS AND ESTABLISHED LEAA TO CONDUCT THOSE PROGRAMS. LEAA'S ACTIVITIES CONSIST OF - PLANNING AND ACTION GRANT ACTIVITIES, NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF LAW ENFORCEMENT AND CRIMINAL JUSTICE ACTIVITIES, AND ACADEMIC ASSISTANCE.
