This “Fact Sheet” of the U.S. Justice Department’s Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) summarizes BJA’s resource solicitations for fiscal year (FY) 2022 that offer resources relevant to the work of corrections.

Abstract

BJA’s mandated mission is to help America’s state, local, and tribal jurisdictions reduce and prevent crime, lower recidivism, and promote a fair and safe criminal justice system. The resources available through the BJA programs described in this Fact Sheet are available for fiscal year 2022 to assist U.S. corrections agencies address various challenges. Resources available are described for the following BJA programs: 1) Body-Worn Camera Policy and Implementation Program to Support Law Enforcement Agencies; 2) Community Supervision Resource Center; 3) Comprehensive Opioid Stimulant, and Substance Abuse Site-based Program; 4) Collaborative Crisis Response and Intervention Training Program; 5) Coordinated Tribal Assistance Solicitation, Purpose Area 4: Tribal Justice System Infrastructure Program; 6) Connect and Protect: Law Enforcement Behavioral Health Response Program; 7) Department of Justice Jails and Justice Support Center; 8) Coordinated Tribal Assistance Solicitation, Purpose Area 3: Tribal Justice Systems Program; 9) Implementing the PREA Standards, Protecting People Who Are incarcerated, and Safeguarding Communities; 10) Justice and Mental Health Collaboration Program; 11) Improving Reentry Education and Employment Outcomes; 12) Improving Substance Use Disorder Treatment and Recovery Outcomes for Adults in Reentry; 13) Justice Counts Implementation Program; 14) National Initiatives in Justice and Mental Health: Training and Technical Assistance for Grantees and the Field; 15) Preventing Violence Against Law Enforcement Officers and Ensuring Officer Resilience and Survivability (VALOR) Initiative; 16) Residential Substance Abuse Treatment for State Prisoners Program; 17) Patrick Leahy Bulletproof Vest Partnership Program; 18) Residential Substance Abuse Treatment (RSAT) for State Prisoners Training and Technical Assistance Program; 19) Tribal Corrections Capability Building Training and Technical Assistance Program; and 20) Swift, Certain, and Fair Supervision Program: Applying the Principles Behind Project HOPE.
