Abstract

This Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) solicitation overview provides information for potential applicants for FY 2024 Community-Based Approaches to Prevent and Address Hate Crimes funding. The following entities are eligible to apply: Native American tribal organizations (other than federally recognized tribal governments); nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education; nonprofits that do not have a 501(c) (3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education; public, private, and state-controlled institutions of higher education; community-based and civil rights organizations that are tribal, nonprofit, and academic. Successful candidates will receive funding to support comprehensive community-based approaches to addressing hate crimes. These approaches should promote community awareness and preparedness, increase victim reporting, and improve responses to hate crimes. The BJA encourages the following entities to apply: agencies that have not previously received BJA funding; and convening or governing bodies that can apply on behalf of one or more entities.
