These six articles focusing on law enforcement in Canada focus on the use of police dogs, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Commissioner's National Youth Advisory Committee, the collection and analysis of evidence involving human skeletal remains, shoplifting, and other issues.
Abstract
Police dogs are discussed with respect to their involvement in the location of crime scenes and the collection of evidence. The National Youth Advisory Committee is discussed with respect to its role as an alternative to a traditional advisory committee to provide input to the RCMP regarding youth concerns and issues. Human skeletal remains are discussed in terms of the questions and topics the forensic anthropologist needs to consider in making an identification regarding the time of death, gender, age, and race. Shoplifters in Montreal, Quebec were analyzed with respect to their demographics, criminal histories, and sentences. Additional articles examine the role of the media in promoting traveler safety and the role of the British National Criminal Intelligence Service in addressing serious crime in Great Britain and assisting police in other countries.
