A new State constitution will allow legislators to change parole rules for certain inmates, and the governor requested more paroles to reduce prison and jail overcrowding in Georgia.
Abstract
The 4,572 inmates released by Parole Board action from July through December 1982 constituted the largest number ever released by the Board in any 6-month period. The release program doubled parole officer caseloads. Statistics on pardons and parole and a map are supplied.
