Annotation
Directed to child victims and witnesses, this workbook is designed to help children learn about court and prepare to testify in it.
Abstract
An introduction encourages parents to help their child read one chapter at a time and to take frequent breaks. They should also watch the child for signs of anxiety and stop reading for a while. It may take from 3 days to 3 weeks to finish the workbook. The book uses questions and answers, drawings that can be colored, definitions, and spaces in which the child should draw pictures. The questions and answers provide basic information about the purpose of the court, the different court personnel, what to wear, what will happen, and how to answer questions. A form at the end provides space for personal information such as the judge, advocate, prosecutor, defendant, and therapist. Illustrations
