Abstract
Crime trends in regard to drug offenses, mentally disordered offenders, terrorists, and aged, juvenile, and female offenders are discussed and compared with other countries. The treatment of offenders, including juveniles, by prosecutors, the courts, and corrections is discussed along with rehabilitation procedures. The perceptions of the people of Japan are detailed with attention to certain crimes such as shoplifting and violent acts.
