SUGGESTED OPERATIONAL, MANAGEMENT, AND PROGRAM STANDARDS AND GUIDES FOR GROUP HOMES (INSTITUTIONAL DWELLINGS STAFFED BY 'HOUSE-PARENTS' AS WELL AS PROFESSIONALS).
Abstract
THE STANDARDS AND GUIDES ARE DESIGNED TO BE SUFFICIENTLY SPECIFIC TO ENABLE AUTHORITIES INVOLVED IN GROUP HOME DEVELOPMENT TO JUDGE THE OVERALL FEASIBILITY OF PROJECT PROPOSALS, TO MONITOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THOSE PROPOSALS, AND TO EVALUATE PROJECTS IN TERMS OF THE CRITERIA FOR SUCCESS ORIGINALLY SPECIFIED FOR THEM. IN ADDITION TO A DESCRIPTION OF THE USE OF GROUP HOMES IN CONNECTICUT AND A SET OF PROCEDURES FOR DEVELOPING GROUP HOMES, STANDARDS ARE PROVIDED FOR PROGRAMS, PHASES OF CARE, COMMUNITY SERVICES, SITE AND FACILITY SELECTIONS, STAFFING PATTERNS AND ARRANGEMENTS, INTERNAL PROCEDURES, AND SUPPORTING SERVICES.
