Abstract
Participants included judges and magistrates from 23 countries on four continents. The presentations and discussions focused on current socioeconomic conditions in Northern Ireland, the Northern Ireland legal system, the psychological and social impacts of Northern Ireland's conflicts on young people, criminal justice policies in the different parts of the United Kingdom, the role of community-based corrections, issues related to serious juvenile offenders, and public attitudes toward juvenile offenders.
