This volume summarizes the criminal laws regulating personal sexual behavior and groups the laws into 17 areas, including rape and sexual assault, marital exemptions from rape and sexual assault, the age of consent, sodomy, transmission of disease, public nudity and indecency, fornication, and adultery.
Abstract
Other categories include abuse of position of trust or authority, incest, bigamy, prostitution, the possession of obscene materials, bestiality, necrophilia, obscene communications, and voyeurism. The text excludes entrepreneurial activity related to sex, such as producing pornography and the maintenance of a house of prostitution. It also excludes regulations governing Native American Indian and non-continental territories, as well as local ordinances and common law resulting from judicial decisions. An introduction to each chapter provides background and definitions and places the laws in their historical and constitutional context. State and Federal laws are then arranged alphabetically by jurisdiction. The summaries of the laws use the original terminology and are accompanied by citations to the statute books and the date the statue was enacted. Glossary
