INFORMATION ABOUT LEAA PROGRAMS IS PROVIDED, INCLUDING DISCRETIONARY GRANT PROGRAMS, SELECTED PROGRAM FIELD TESTS, TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE, AND TRAINING, AS WELL AS DIRECTIONS FOR OBTAINING LEAA FUNDING.
Abstract
THIS MANUAL IS DIRECTED AT STATE AND LOCAL CRIMINAL JUSTICE AGENCIES, INSTITUTIONS AND ORGANIZATIONS WHO WORK WITH CRIMINAL JUSTICE AGENCIES, STATE PLANNING AGENCIES, REGIONAL AND LOCAL PLANNING UNITS AND LEAA PERSONNEL. THE ENTRIES PROVIDE INFORMATION ON PROGRAM OBJECTIVES, PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS, PROGRAM STRATEGY, NUMBER AND FINANCIAL ALLOCATIONS OF GRANTS, ELIGIBILITY FOR PROJECTS, CRITERIA FOR PROJECT SELECTION, AND EVALUATION REQUIREMENTS. PROGRAM OUTLINES ARE LISTED UNDER THESE CATEGORIES: PREVENTION, ENFORCEMENT, ADJUDICATION, CORRECTIONS SYSTEMS SUPPORT, AND JUVENILE JUSTICE AND DELINQUENCY. THE APPENDIX CONTAINS GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS FOR DISCRETIONARY GRANT ELIGIBILITY, INSTRUCTIONS FOR PREPARING AND SUBMITTING APPLICATIONS, AND INFORMATION ON THE AWARDING AND ADMINISTRATION OF GRANTS.
