This book presents Federal grant programs pertaining to anti-drug and anti-alcohol efforts by State and local governments, community nonprofit organizations, treatment agencies, schools and colleges, medical researchers, law enforcement agencies, volunteer groups, and any other agency that addresses substance abuse.
Abstract
The guide opens with an overview of the history and structure of the Federal Government's anti-drug effort. Subsequent chapters are labeled by funding agency rather than program function. A chapter is devoted to each Federal agency. An introduction describes the agency and provides an overview of the programs funded by the agency as well as recent or pending legislative and regulatory actions. Individual programs operated by the agency are presented in a standard format. Following the program title, the CFDA number is provided. A brief statement of the program's purpose precedes a "quick check" box that summarizes important facts about the programs: who may receive aid under the program, the type of aid provided, and key requirements. The book concludes with a listing of important State contacts. Functional index, subject index, and a Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance Index
