The report discusses the commission's jurisdiction and powers as well as its complaints procedures and includes data on the number of complaints received, commission staff and training, and its budget.
Abstract
The commission holds jurisdiction over any judge or justice in Hawaii. In response to a request for an inquiry, which any person may initiate, and after determining that sufficient cause exists to proceed with the inquiry, the commission will investigate the case and recommend removal, retirement, imposition of limitations on judicial performance, and/or reprimand or censure. Most of the 25 complaints received during the year were dismissed. Amending legislation is appended.
