Abstract
THE REPORT, WHICH IS DEDICATED TO CITIZENS WHO PARTICIPATED AS VOLUNTEERS IN COURT SERVICE PROGRAMS, HIGHLIGHTS THE YEAR'S MAJOR ACTIVITIES. THESE INCLUDED PLANNING FOR THE 1978 CONSTITUTIONAL CONVENTION, PROGRESS IN AUTOMATING THE COURT SYSTEM'S DATA-PROCESSING OPERATIONS, COMPLETION OF PLANS FOR THREE MAJOR CONSTRUCTION/RENOVATION PROJECTS, AND SPONSORSHIP OF 23 BILLS IN THE STATE LEGISLATURE (OF WHICH 14 WERE SIGNED INTO LAW). SEPARATE SECTIONS COVER THE FUNCTIONS, PERSONNEL, AND ACTIVITIES OF THE STATE'S SUPREME COURT, LAND COURT, TAX APPEAL COURT, AND TRIAL COURTS (CIRCUIT, FAMILY, AND DISTRICT). ALSO INCLUDED ARE SUMMARIES OF ACTIVITIES IN EACH JUDICIAL CIRCUIT, AND A SECTION ON COURT SUPPORT SERVICES (BUDGET AND FINANCE, PERSONNEL, PLANNING, PUBLIC INFORMATION, VOLUNTEER SERVICES, JUDICIARY COMPUTER SERVICES, SHERIFF'S OFFICE).
