The Corrections Health Service is responsible for the delivery of all health services to inmates and offenders under community corrections supervision. Major achievements of these bodies since 1987 are reported. Another chapter describes the primary care services in the Victorian Prison System. Medical services at various stages of the prison process and in various prisons are described. A chapter reviews the forensic psychiatric services to inmates and offenders. This review encompasses government policy and legislation, the functions of forensic psychiatry, key principles that guide service delivery, program development, education, training, research, and current program implementation schedule. Other chapters describe alcohol and drug programs and AIDS education programs in the Victorian corrections system.
