This set of attachments to a study of the use of helicopters in police pursuits presents the questions and answers to a questionnaire survey of Baltimore residents regarding their attitudes toward police pursuits and the use of helicopters.
Abstract
The questions focused on the use of police pursuits in incidents involving a traffic violation, a misdemeanor property crime, a felony property crime, an incident involving a stolen vehicle, an incident involving driving under the influence, violent felonies, and police shootings. The questions were asked for low-risk and high-risk incidents that occurred in the participant's neighborhood and for different descriptions of pursuit outcomes. Responses are provided by age group, gender, residence in various types of Baltimore neighborhoods, and income. For the final report of the study of which this survey was a part, see NCJ-171376.
