THE ARTICLE PRESENTS A TOTAL SECURITY SYSTEM DESIGNED TO PREVENT TERRORIST ATTACKS ON HIGH RISK BUSINESSES. THE SYSTEM INCLUDES ENTRAPMENT AND POSSIBLE KILLING OF TERRORISTS IN THE EVENT OF AN ATTACK.
Abstract
THE SUCCESSFUL OFFICE COUNTER-TERRORIST SECURITY SYSTEM IS BASED UPON CORRECT ASSESSMENT, CUTTING OFF THE ESCAPE ROUTE, PREVENTION OF HOSTAGE-TAKING, AND BEING PREPARED TO USE WEAPONS. SPECIFIC SUGGESTIONS TO IMPLEMENT SUCH A SYSTEM ARE DETAILED. EXPLANATIONS ARE GIVEN FOR OFFICE LAYOUT: INSTALLATION OF ELECTRONIC DOORS, LOCKS, AND FLASHING SYSTEMS; CLOSED CIRCUIT SURVEILLANCE; AND STAFF COUNTERMEASURES. PREEMPLOYMENT SCREENING, SCREENING OF ALL VISITORS AND DELIVERY PEOPLE, AND THE USE OF WEAPONS BY SECURITY PERSONNEL AND EXECUTIVES ARE ALSO DISCUSSED. A DIAGRAM OF AN OFFICE DESIGNED FOR TOTAL SECURITY PROTECTION IS INCLUDED. (TAG)
