This paper discusses issues which have a direct bearing on chemical use by homosexuals and which must be taken into account when related intervention or research is undertaken.
Abstract
Some of these issues are stigma, lifestyle and freedoms together with the gay bar as social center, leading to greater use of alcohol and drugs; and gay liberation, support groups and fear of health risks, leading to more moderate use. 63 references. (Author abstract modified)
