Abstract
AFTER A DISCUSSION OF BASIC SECURITY CONSIDERATIONS, SEVERAL EASY TO INSTALL DETECTION AND ALARM DEVICES ARE DESCRIBED, INCLUDING THOSE DESIGNED FOR SPECIFIC TYPES OF FACILITY ENTRANCES. FIRE AND SMOKE SENSORS ARE EXPLAINED AS WELL AS RADAR, ULTRASONIC, PHOTO-ELECTRIC, AND PERIMETER ALARM SYSTEMS. THE AUTHOR GIVES ATTENTION TO INSTALLATION DETAILS SUCH AS TYPICAL HOUSE CONSTRUCTION, CONCEALMENT OF WIRING, WIRING A CONTROL PANEL, AND INSTALLATION OF LOCKS AND PANIC BUTTONS.
