Abstract
THE GOAL OF THE COURSE IS TO PROVIDE OFFICERS WITH THE BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY TO DEAL WITH THE MULTITUDE OF EXPLOSIVE INTERPERSONAL SITUATIONS WITH WHICH THEY DEAL SO THAT: 1) THEY ARE PERCEIVED BY DISPUTANTS AS HELPFUL, UNDERSTANDING, AND NON-THREATENING; 2) THEY CAN APPLY THESE SKILLS TO FACILITATE PEACEFUL AND REASONABLE SOLUTIONS TO SUCH INTERPERSONAL CRISES.
