Abstract
A statement of common purpose and values is followed by a statement on the responsibilities of the deputy chief constable, which includes the chairing of the county's Central Co-ordinating Group, a body of police and citizens that formulates priorities for reducing crime and disorder in the county. An outline of the operations of the Inspectorate and Research Department encompasses key operational areas and development plans for the agency. Other operations reviewed for 1991 pertain to community affairs, discipline and complaints, public appreciation, assistant chief constable management services and operations, prosecutions and associated matters, information technology, personnel and training, sport and recreation, and policy coordination. Budget information is provided along with narrative information on crime, crime operations, crime support, the maintenance of public order, traffic policing, motoring offenses, and operations support. Appendixes provide statistics on discipline and complaints, community affairs, prosecutions, personnel, resource management, crime analysis, crime operations, crime support, traffic policing, and operations support. Statistics encompass 1990 as well as 1991.
