This Annual Report of the Huron County Common Pleas Court Juvenile Division (Ohio) presents statistics and information on the court's mission and activities for 2012.
Abstract
After stating the court's mission and outlining its balanced approach to juvenile justice for delinquent and unruly youth and children, data are presented on the number of hearings and trials conducted in 2012; community placements in 2012; and the youth committed to the Department of Youth Services (DYS), including community correctional facilities for the years 2009 - 2012. Detention costs are compared for the last 5 years. Types of complaints docketed are shown by gender for 2012 and 2011, along with the referral sources and disposition of abused, dependent, and neglected children for 2012 by gender. Referral sources, residence location, ages, and dispositions are reported for delinquency, unruly, and traffic complaints in 2012. Information and data on court services address the number of hours worked by interns, the hours worked by youth in the Community Service Learning Program in 2012, and the activities of the following services: mediation, the Juvenile Intervention Court (assists youth with substance abuse dependency and mental health disorders), court-appointed special advocates, and the Reach Our Youth volunteer mentoring program.
