This one of a series of four consumer films, based on situations in an imaginary family, focuses on a fraudulent furnace inspector who offers to fix the family's furnace on his own time and to charge only for the parts.
Abstract
The family readily accepts the offer and discovers the fraud only after the check has cleared the bank. The film emphasizes the importance of asking persons who furnish repair service for identification and of verifying such identification by calling city hall or a local consumer agency.
