Data from United States and Canadian national drug intelligence estimates from 1985 and 1986 form the basis of a comparison of the nature and extent of drug abuse and drug trafficking in the two countries.
Abstract
Both Canada and the United States are mainly consumers rather than producers of drugs. However, marijuana and other drugs are produced in both countries. Canada has fewer centers of high drug use than does the United States because it has fewer densely populated areas. Canada also has a smaller proportion of heroin addicts than the United States. Specific details regarding marijuana, cocaine, heroin, stimulants, hallucinogens, and other drugs are given. Figures, maps, and tables
