Abstract
AN UPDATED AND REVISED SECOND EDITION OF THE TRAINING MANUAL ON ILLICIT DRUG TRAFFIC FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS PUBLISHED BY THE INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL POLICE ORGANIZATION, THIS 1978 HANDBOOK IS INTENDED FOR INSTRUCTORS TRAINING POLICE OFFICERS AT DIFFERENT LEVELS, INCLUDING UNIFORMED POLICE PATROLMEN AND THEIR SUPERVISORS (THE LATTER BEING ON THE FRONT LINE OF THE FIGHT AGAINST DRUG CRIMES). THE APPROACH IS PRACTICAL, RATHER THAN THEORETICAL, OR MEDICO-PHARMACEUTICAL. EACH CHAPTER IS A LESSON OUTLINE STRUCTURED AROUND ONE BASIC QUESTION (E.G., WHAT IS MEANT BY THE WORK DRUG? WHY DO CERTAIN PEOPLE INDULGE IN DRUG ABUSE?) OR AROUND ONE CENTRAL TOPIC (E.G., DRUG ABUSE BY YOUNG PEOPLE, ILLICIT DRUG TRAFFIC).
