Abstract
THE PURPOSE OF THE WORK IS TO EXPLORE THE BASIC PRINCIPLES INVOLVED AND THE LESSONS LEARNED THAT WILL SERVE AS GUIDES FOR THE ADAPTING OF TREATMENT PROGRAMS TO OTHER TIMES AND PLACES. ATTENTION IS FOCUSED ON FIELD SERVICES, NOT ON PENAL INSTITUTION PROGRAMS, THOUGH IN MANY CASES THE TWO ARE SIMILAR. THE APPLICATION OF PROBATION AND PAROLE PROGRAMS CONCERNS JUVENILES AND ADULTS.
