Abstract
In preparing for the exam, develop a clear concept of what material the exam will cover. Obtain the books that cover exam material. Determine what the test format will be, and train for the exam. The latter should involve a minimum of 100 study hours over a period of not less than 3 months before the exam. Establish a study plan on the calendar and determine the time that is best for study. Do not assume any major responsibilities during the 3-month study period, and plan time to relax a few days prior to the test. Know the time and place of the exam and what to bring. Allow for extra time to drive to the test site; plan to be early; and avoid conversations with those who are unprepared, anxious, or hostile. Regarding the taking of the test, if the test has a time limit, divide it into hour-long segments to ensure the appropriate time is spent on each question. Read each question carefully and restate it in its most basic terms. In the case of a multiple-choice exam, answer each question before looking at the choices. The answer should match one of the choices. If there is no match eliminate the obviously wrong answers first, and then guess the answer after rereading the question. Beware of the right answer to the wrong question, and take a break between each of the 1-hour segments.
