Abstract
Attorney General opinions, letter opinions, and open records decisions that relate to juvenile justice issues are first listed chronologically, and then they are grouped according to subject, along with summaries of the opinions. Summaries that deal with "procedure" encompass juvenile records, community supervision and parole, detention centers, as well as opinions on miscellaneous procedural issues. Opinions that address specific juvenile crimes focus on illegal drug use and truancy, as well as miscellaneous juvenile crimes. Opinions that relate to school address crime in school and other miscellaneous school-related issues. Opinions that relate to jurisdictional issues are grouped under county issues, municipal issues, and court issues. Other Attorney General opinions are summarized under the topics of child support, transportation (driving/drivers' licenses and transportation of juveniles), health care, and "miscellaneous." Some of the topics under "miscellaneous" include the scope of the concealed handgun law, reporting possible child abuse, court referendum on the age of criminal responsibility, and interpreters for deaf and hearing-impaired persons.
