DESIGNED PRIMARILY FOR DIRECTORS OR MANAGERS OF VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS, THIS PUBLICATION DESCRIBES EIGHT PROGRAM CHARACTERISTICS WHICH SEEM TO BE ASSOCIATED WITH SUCCESSFUL AND EFFECTIVE PROGRAMS OF VOLUNTEER SERVICE.
Abstract
THESE INDICATORS OF PROGRAM SUCCESS WERE DEVELOPED BY THE MODEL VOLUNTEER PROJECT, WHICH IS A CALIFORNIA YOUTH AUTHORITY PROGRAM WHICH PROVIDES RESOURCE AND CONSULTATIVE SERVICES TO ASSIST IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF EFFECTIVE VOLUNTEER SERVICES IN CRIMINAL JUSTICE. THE EIGHT PROGRAM INDICATORS ARE ONGOING PLANNING; GOALS, OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES; ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT; PROGRAM AND AGENCY STAFF; FUNDING; PROGRAM ACTIVITIES; COMMUNITY SUPPORT; AND ONGOING EVALUATION.
