FOLLOW-UP STUDY IN 1971 SHOWING 81 PERCENT ACCURACY AMONG 102 PREDICTIONS OF NON-RECIDIVISM MADE BETWEEN 1951 AND 1963 FOR A GROUP OF 189 WEST GERMAN OFFENDERS BETWEEN THE AGES OF 14 AND 23.
Abstract
THE PREDICTIONS WERE MADE ON THE BASIS OF MEDICAL, PSYCHOLOGICAL, AND SOCIAL FACTORS, USUALLY BY PSYCHIATRISTS. SOME OF THE PREDICTIONS ALSO MADE USE OF STANDARDIZED PERSONALITY AND INTELLIGENCE TESTS, INCLUDING THE HAMBURG-WECHSLER AND THE THEMATIC APPERCEPTION TEST. DISCUSSED ARE PROBLEMS CONCERNING THE STANDARDIZATION OF PREDICTION PROCEDURES FOR USE BY WEST GERMAN COURTS. --IN GERMAN
