The integration of pharmacological and nonpharmacological treatments is not new to the field of addiction medicine, and articles in this volume address important considerations in the development and integration of medications for use in addiction treatment.
Abstract
The first four articles focus on the integration of generalized vulnerability to drug and alcohol addiction, studies of xpsychopharmacotherapy for addictive and comorbid disorders, a psychosocial perspective on the integration of treatments for methamphetamine abuse, and the integration of pharmacotherapy and nonpharmacotherapy. Other articles present an international perspective on the integration of pharmacotherapies for treating alcoholics, discuss the integration of research in pharmacotherapy for addictive diseases, and examine the integration of pharmacological and nonpharmacological treatments for drug and alcohol addictions.
