INTENDED FOR USE IN DAILY ROLL CALL TRAINING SESSIONS OR AS A SUPPLEMENT TO CLASSROOM TRAINING, THIS VOLUME PRESENTS A SERIES OF TRAINING BULLETINS WHICH ARE SELF CONTAINED LESSONS ON A WIDE VARIETY OF POLICE ACTIVITIES.
Abstract
THIS TRAINING KEY OPENS WITH A SET OF RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE POLICE INSTRUCTOR ON CONDUCTING THE TRAINING SESSIONS. THE TEXTS OF THE 24 TRAINING KEY BULLETINS ARE THEN PRESENTED. EACH TRAINING KEY INCLUDES A SHORT LESSON, QUESTIONS ON THE LESSON, SUGGESTIONS FOR RELATED READING, AND ANSWERS TO THE TRAINING KEY QUESTIONS. AN INSTRUCTOR'S GUIDE WHICH DESCRIBES THE PURPOSE OF TRAINING KEY AND PROVIDES DISCUSSION QUESTIONS ON THE LESSON IS ALSO INCLUDED FOR EACH BULLETIN. IN THIS FIRST VOLUME, LESSONS ARE PROVIDED ON SUCH SUBJECTS AS FELONY-IN-PROGRESS CALLS, PRINCIPLES OF INVESTIGATION, CAUSES OF JUVENILE DELINQUENCY, TESTIFYING IN COURT, TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS, SEARCHES, HANDLING DISTURBANCE CALLS, AND AGGRESSIVE PATROL.
