Abstract
THE GERMAN CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE 10TH INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS FOR COMPARATIVE LAW, WHICH ATTRACTED LEGAL EXPERTS FROM MANY NATIONS, COVER A VARIETY OF SUBJECTS. THE MAJORITY OF ARTICLES FOCUSED ON CURRENT GERMAN LAWS AND STATUTES CONCERNING (1) THE CONCEPT OF 'ERROR' (I.E., THE OFFENDER'S IGNORANCE AS TO THE EXACT CIRCUMSTANCES OF HIS OFFENSE; E.G. A PERSON COMMITTING AN OFFENSE WITHOUT KNOWING THAT IT WAS A CRIMINAL ACT), (2) ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION IN CRIMINAL LAW, (3) THE RESPONSIBILITY OF CORPORATIONS ('LEGAL PERSONS') BEFORE THE LAW, AND (4) TRIALS IN ABSENCE OF THE OFFENDER. ANOTHER ARTICLE DEALS WITH THE USE, ADVANTAGES, AND LIMITATIONS OF THE COMPARATIVE METHOD IN INTERNATIONAL CRIMINOLOGICAL STUDIES. ALL OF THESE ARTICLES CONTAIN BIBLIOGRAPHICAL ANNOTATIONS AND DETAILED SUMMARIES IN ENGLISH, FRENCH, AND SPANISH; SOME INCLUDE OUTLINES. --IN GERMAN. (SAJ)
