Abstract
Individual papers discussed the money laundering activities associated with organized crime in Canada and the efforts to combat them; the role of the United Nations in combating organized crime; and the history of police policies and practices regarding alcohol law enforcement in the 1920s and drug law enforcement in recent years. Additional papers explain policy related to organized crime in the United Kingdom, the role of the courts in combating international crime, asset forfeiture, and efforts to deal with organized crime in the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.
