Abstract
THIS CONFERENCE, HELD MAY 24-28, 1976 IN GENEVA, SWITZERLAND, INVESTIGATED WAYS TO BALANCE THE CONFLICTING NEEDS OF DISCOVERING THE FACTS OF A CRIME AND SAFEGUARDING THE INTERESTS OF THE JUVENILE SUSPECT, WITNESS, OR VICTIM. INDIVIDUAL PAPERS FOCUS ON THE NEED FOR A CODE OF ETHICS AND SPECIAL TRAINING FOR POLICE INTERROGATORS WHO QUESTION JUVENILES; THE RISK OF JUVENILES SUFFERING PSYCHOLOGICAL DAMAGES FROM MISHANDLED INTERROGATIONS; AND PSYCHOLOGICAL ASPECTS OF INTERVIEWS AND INTERROGATIONS.
