THE MICHIGAN YOUTH SERVICES INFORMATION SYSTEM (MYSIS) IS DESCRIBED IN TERMS OF ITS FUNCTION AS A UNIT, AND AS IT SERVES ITS INDIVIDUAL PARTICIPATING AGENCIES.
Abstract
MYSIS IS UTILIZED BOTH AS A STATEWIDE COMPONENT (WHICH CONSISTS OF THOSE DATA BASES AND FUNCTIONS THAT ARE SHARED IN VARYING DEGREES BY PARTICIPANTS BEYOND COUNTY BOUNDARIES) AND AS A LOCAL AGENCY COMPONENT (WHICH CONTAINS THE DATA BASES AND INFORMATION SERVICES WHICH SUPPORT THE INDIVIDUAL PARTICIPATING AGENCIES AND PROVIDES THE CAPABILITY FOR INTRA-COUNTY INFORMATION EXCHANGE). THE PURPOSE, SCOPE, SERVICES PROVIDED AND DATA ALLUMULATION PROCEDURES FOR MYSIS MODULES AND SECTORS ARE EXPLAINED. THESE MODULES INCLUDE: REFERRAL SERVICES; JUVENILE NAME INDEX; STATUS/HISTORY; DATA ACCESS RESTRICTIONS; INDIVIDUAL AGENCY DATA; AND, COUNTY CASE PROCESSING. THE SECTORS PROVIDE SERVICES TO SCHOOLS, POLICE, COURTS, SOCIAL SERVICES AND PRIVATE AGENCIES.
